Calling all budding Picasso’s to Watford Museum

Watford Museum is taking part in the national Big Draw event on Saturday 3 October with lots of free activities for children and adults alike.

A team of artists will be showing visitors how to turn inspiration into art. Visitors can drop in between 11am and 4pm to try out clay sculpting, portrait drawing and take part in a treasure hunt.

The Museum’s collections and historic building will provide the inspiration for visitors’ art based on the National Campaign for Drawing's theme of 'every object tells a story'.

All ages and abilities will find a place throughout the building and bring historical objects to life through their art. To keep the creative juices flowing the budding artists can enjoy drinks and author-themed cakes in the special Big Draw Gallery tearoom.

Elected Mayor Dorothy Thornhill said: “You can be sure of a welcome reception at the Museum – the activities they put on are completely free. It’s such a great place to take the children for a few hours – they can get creative while you have some tea and cake at the tearoom.”

The Big Draw is part of a nationwide Big Draw festival run by the Campaign for Drawing.
