One of Watford Borough Council’s core Corporate Objectives is to ensure that we remain an efficient, effective and value for money Council. Since the economic downturn, we have also committed to making it easier for private businesses and Community and Voluntary Sector (CVS) to tender for our contracts. Currently all contracts offered by the Council are advertised either locally, in relevant trade journals, or on the two websites Supply2 and Official Journal of the European Union.
The Council tries to ensure value for money, fairness and probity in all its transactions. It has a strict set of rules to abide by in its procurement activities, as well as in its strategy governing how it approaches procuring goods and services. For further details, including a copy of Watford Borough Councils Procurement Strategy and the Council’s Contract Procedure Rules, please click here. Local companies can also tender for Hertfordshire County Council procurement contracts, as well as all the other 9 local councils within Hertfordshire through Supply Hertfordshire.
CompeteFor is a free service that enables businesses to compete for contract opportunities linked to the London 2012 Games and other major public and private sector buying organisations.
The Hertfordshire Ready for Winners Partnership is also supporting the delivery of the London 2012 Games and maximising the opportunities and benefits for the people and businesses of Hertfordshire. To find out more, visit their website here.
